FCCLA Visits Bridgewater College!
Yesterday, Mrs. Shutt and our FCCLA club members took a walk around campus and spent some time with the Eagles at Bridgewater College! They had a fantastic day touring the campus, exploring the Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) program, and learning about all the wonderful opportunities FCCLA and Bridgewater have to offer.
A big thank-you to Mrs. Shutt for such a fun and educational experience!

BCHS would like to extend a huge, heartfelt thank you to the Bath County Arts Association!
Their generous support helps fuel the creativity and passions of our students by donating to a variety of clubs and activities. Most recently, their contributions have supported our Lego Club and Craft Club, providing much-needed supplies that allow our students to build, create, and explore their artistic talents.
We’ve attached some photos of our students in action—enjoying, building, and crafting—thanks to your support!
Thank you, BCAA! We truly appreciate your continued investment in our students’ growth and creativity!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Samantha Shutt, Bath County High School
BATH COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL RECEIVES STEM GRANT
FROM TOSHIBA AMERICA FOUNDATION FOR $2,500
Hot Springs, VA (August 27, 2025) – Bath County High School is pleased to announce it has received a $2,500 STEM grant from the Toshiba America Foundation (TAF). These funds will support the Greenify Bath County Project.
The Greenify Bath County grant will support a garden and greenhouse project at Bath County High School, serving the entire student body in grades 8-12, including both culinary and science students. The project’s goal is to provide hands-on learning experiences in environmental science by having students plant, maintain, and harvest crops. This will deepen their understanding of sustainable agriculture, ecology, and nutrition while integrating real-world applications into their studies.
Toshiba America Foundation’s grants fund projects designed by individual classroom teachers. This “direct-to-teacher” approach brings immediate results. Teachers are able to change the way they teach Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects because the grant supports equipment for hands-on experiments and inquiry-based approaches to the curriculum. At TAF, we believe that STEM is a lot more fun than just reading a textbook. TAF grants provide teachers with the tools they need to be more effective educators. The grants make the classroom a more exciting place for both teachers and students.
About Toshiba America Foundation
